Causal AI, reinforcement learning, and game-theoretic design for 6G networks.
Bio
I am an Assistant Professor at the G.S. Sanyal School of Telecommunications, IIT Kharagpur, where I lead the LAN Lab (Learning and Automation for Networks). I was previously an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Indore.
My research develops 6G communication networks using machine and deep learning, causal inference, distributed optimization, network calculus, queuing theory, and game theory — tools I apply to design and analyze resource-allocation and scheduling algorithms for next-generation networks. My current work centers on causal modeling and causal-inference–aided reinforcement learning for wireless queuing systems.
Outside research, I have a keen interest in mathematics, play football and table tennis, and enjoy tinkering on the piano and keyboard.
Research Interests
My work spans the LAN Lab's four research thrusts:
- Causal AI for Networks — causal inference and machine learning for robust, interpretable decisions in wireless and optical systems.
- Reinforcement Learning & Control — constrained, federated, and counterfactual RL for sequential decision-making under uncertainty.
- Game Theory & Mechanism Design — strategic interactions and incentive-compatible designs for distributed networked systems.
- 6G / O-RAN & Optical Access — open architectures and access-network design across radio and optical domains.
