Causal AI, reinforcement learning, and game-theoretic design for 6G networks.

Bio

I am an Assistant Professor at the G.S. Sanyal School of Telecommunications, IIT Kharagpur, where I lead the LAN Lab (Learning and Automation for Networks). I was previously an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Indore.

My research uses causal inference, reinforcement learning, distributed optimisation, network calculus, queuing theory, and game theory to design and analyse resource-allocation and scheduling algorithms for next-generation networks. My current focus is causal modelling and causal-inference–aided reinforcement learning for wireless queuing systems.

Outside research, I have a keen interest in mathematics, play football and table tennis, and enjoy tinkering on the piano and keyboard.

Research Interests

My work spans the LAN Lab's four research thrusts. See the Research page for what each entails:

Education & Background

  • Joint PhD, University of Melbourne and IIT Kharagpur, supervised by Prof. Goutam Das (IIT Kharagpur), Prof. Tansu Alpcan (University of Melbourne), and Prof. Marimuthu Palaniswami (University of Melbourne).
  • M.Tech in Telecommunication Systems Engineering, IIT Kharagpur (9.54/10).
  • B.Tech in Electronics and Communication, NIT Durgapur (8.62/10).
  • Postdoc, EECS, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, with Prof. James Gross, on causal inference for communication networks.
  • Research Associate, IIT Kharagpur (5G and Beyond project under MeitY), on QoE for Extended Reality applications.
